Jerry Pippins, Education Manager

Jerry was born on Misawa Air Force Base in Japan. Coming from a military family, Jerry’s parents encouraged a career of public service. Once settled in Bradenton, he worked locally while attending the University of South Florida in Tampa for a degree in International Studies, focusing in Latin America. After working as sales and marketing coordinator for a small and a global business, he found his passion in education teaching at a local high school in Bradenton.

Jerry’s close work with a majority of Latinx students left an impression on him. He saw and heard firsthand the struggles he studied in college. These students inspired him to do the best he could, studying educational research and teaching strategies in his free time. The work the students were able to accomplish with his help led him to be brought on by the School District to help develop a class to help other teachers teach English Language Learners.

Jerry was awarded Social Studies Teacher of the Year by the Florida Council of Social Studies due to his work ethic and dedication to helping his students. His students have inspired Jerry’s passion to uplift and inspire others to seize their American Dream.

Jerry brings his passion to UnidosNow and will work tirelessly to help each family he can and help build our community through teamwork and education. You can reach out to Jerry at jerry@unidosnow.org.
