Alex is honored to be a part of the UnidosNow team and looks forward to giving back to the community which has given so much to her.
Born in North Carolina and raised in Sarasota, FL, Alexandra DeMartino has known the joy of being introduced to diverse cultures from a young age. A graduate from the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee, Alex holds a major in History and a minor in Spanish and Latin American Studies.
A pivotal moment in her studies was being introduced to the history of Sephardim and Ladino (Judeo-Español). Through learning about these subjects and there histories, she gained a deeper understanding and appreciation for her own Jewish background. In her studies, she discovered the many connections between her own diverse community and that of the Latine community. Carrying with her the Jewish values of “tikkun olam” (repair of the world) and “tzedek” (justice), Alex has committed herself to the pursuit of justice for all and believes that justice is best gained through education and outreach.

Alex se siente honrada de ser parte del equipo de UnidosNow y espera retribuir a la comunidad que le ha dado tanto.
Nacida en Carolina del Norte y criada en Sarasota, FL, Alexandra DeMartino ha conocido la alegría de ser introducida a diversas culturas desde una edad temprana. Graduado de la Universidad del Sur de Florida Sarasota-Manatee, Alex tiene una especialización en Historia y una especialización pequeña en Estudios Españoles y Latinoamericanos.
Un momento crucial en sus estudios fue la introducción a la historia de los sefardíes y el ladino (judeo-español). Al aprender sobre estos temas y sus historias, obtuvo una comprensión y apreciación más profundas de su propio origen judío. En sus estudios, descubrió las muchas conexiones entre su propia comunidad diversa y la de la comunidad latina. Llevando consigo los valores judíos de "tikkun olam" (reparación del mundo) y "tzedek" (justicia), Alex se ha comprometido con la búsqueda de la justicia para todos y cree que la justicia se obtiene mejor a través de la educación y la divulgación.
