Director of Development and Communications

The mission of UnidosNow is to elevate the quality of life of the growing Hispanic/Latinx community through education, integration, and civic engagement. In pursuit of this mission, UnidosNow’s Future Leaders Academy (FLA) has established itself as a leader in the development and delivery of college preparatory programs to assist high school students in realizing their dream of education beyond high school. Unidos Now multigenerational approach includes working with parents and grandparents to support their educational growth and integration into the community.

Job Description

UnidosNow is seeking a dynamic and strategic Development & Communications Director to lead our growth initiatives and amplify our mission. This role is pivotal in driving fundraising efforts, building strategic partnerships, and enhancing our brand through impactful communications. The key role of the Director of Business Development and Communications is to work with the existing team to implement and oversee UnidosNow Development and Communications efforts. The Director will work with leadership and key staff to further the Unidos Now mission by identifying and prioritizing areas for funding opportunities and serving as the primary media contact, managing public relations and community outreach efforts.

Reports to: Executive Director

Duties and Responsibilities

Business Development:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies, including grants, corporate sponsorships, and individual giving campaigns.

  • Identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors, partners, and stakeholders to expand funding opportunities.

  • Participate in grant writing efforts and manage reporting requirements to funders.

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop strategic growth plans.

Communications:

  • Oversee all internal and external communications to ensure brand consistency and mission alignment.

  • Develop and execute marketing campaigns that engage diverse audiences, including social media, newsletters, press releases, and annual reports.

  • Serve as the primary media contact, managing public relations and community outreach efforts.

  • Support event planning with promotional strategies and materials.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, or related field; Master’s preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, fundraising, and communications, preferably in a nonprofit setting.

  • Proven track record in securing funding through grants, sponsorships, and donor cultivation.

  • Strong leadership, project management, and strategic planning skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities in English and Spanish.

  • Proficiency in CRM systems, social media platforms, and marketing tools.

Salary Range

$60K-$65K
