A Month Full of Inspiration

Our Zoom sessions in March have been popular and very informative. Bank of America brought us topics such as “How to buy a Home and How to ask for a Mortgage or Loan.” They also shared their “Better Money Habits” page with us. Mid-month, we have our informal Cafecito. We shared information about the different programs that UnidosNow has; Parents also shared what it means to be a Parent Ambassador and how they have benefited from this role.

At a later Zoom session this month, one of our participants, Josie, shared a PowerPoint presentation, “My Learning Journey.” She spoke of her personal journey, which entailed getting her GED degree, and recently, her A.A. Degree. All this while caring for her 2 children. Her dreams include staying in school to finally receive a Bachelor’s Degree. She was an exceptional inspirational speaker.

Another speaker at our Zoom sessions was Nelson Hurtado, President of ANP Health Services. He helped one of our participants pursue her nursing career by expediting the process of validation of her country’s university accreditation. Although his experience lies in the field of nursing, Nelson shared other sources that can help individuals in other careers.
