UnidosNow Welcomes New Executive Director, Evelyn Almodóvar

 

After a national search, community leader Evelyn Almodóvar has been selected as the new Executive Director of UnidosNow. Evelyn brings over 15 years of distinguished experience in nonprofit leadership and a deep commitment to youth development and community impact.

We are thrilled to welcome Evelyn to the team as the new executive director of UnidosNow. As a bilingual, first-generation immigrant, Evelyn embodies the path and success UnidosNow aims for our students to experience. Her exceptional track record in nonprofit and business leadership, and her passion for community development, make her the ideal choice to lead our organization into its next chapter. Her experience in fostering growth, building partnerships, and her commitment to innovation align perfectly with our organization’s values and goals. Evelyn’s leadership comes at a crucial time, and we are confident in her ability to guide UnidosNow to new heights.

 

In her previous role at Lucet Health, formerly New Directions Behavioral Health, Evelyn spearheaded significant growth, elevating the organization's reach and impact in the tech-enabled services industry. Her leadership was instrumental in expanding access to behavioral health services nationwide, resulting in the growth of a more than $70 million program portfolio.

Evelyn has worked closely with young individuals and witnessed their growth in her past work at Healthy Teens Coalition. She is also the founder of TEDxBradenton, which is in its third year of highlighting local diverse talent in the Manasota area. The yearly fall conference under her leadership is curated and organized by local youth who are inspired by the power of ideas to address local issues.

Reflecting on her new role, Evelyn shares, “I am immensely excited to join UnidosNow and contribute to its mission of empowering and inspiring our next generation of leaders and their families. The opportunity to lead such a dynamic organization, especially in these challenging times, is both an honor and a responsibility that I embrace wholeheartedly. My focus will be on innovation, adaptability, and collaborative engagement to ensure that we remain at the forefront of positive change for our communities.”

Evelyn's appointment is a testament to UnidosNow’s commitment to fostering leadership that mirrors the diverse communities it serves. Her leadership is anticipated to bring a fresh perspective and renewed energy to the organization's initiatives, furthering its mission of community strength and development.

 

Our new Executive Director embodies our commitment to education and empowerment, as a dedicated advocate for equity and for lifelong education. She earned a master’s degree in public administration from Post University (Waterbury, Connecticut). Her commitment to personal and professional growth is further evidenced by her numerous certifications, including one in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from the University of South Florida. Currently, she is pursuing her Ph.D. in Public Administration at Northcentral University.
